Since his debut in 2004, Farveez Maharoof cemented a permanent place in the national side with some dazzling bowling performances like the one in the 2006 Champions Trophy. He picked up his best figures of 6 for 14 against West Indies, a tournament record to date but a series of injuries kept him out of national duty since 2012.
Last year, Maharoof made a return to the side but in his own admission, he failed to grab the opportunity. In an interview with www.mirrorcricket.lk , the 32-year-old admits his career in international cricket is all but over but he will continue to ply his trade in domestic game. His only regret was not being able to lead the national side.
