A 54-ball unbeaten 100 by Evin Lewis and Kyle Mayers's 62-ball 92 went in vain as important knocks from Tim Seifert, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and David Wiese set up a winning start for Saint Lucia Kings in their Caribbean Premier League match played at the Warner Park, Basseterre in St. Kitts.

Lewis and Mayers were involved in a record 199-run second wicket partnership that powered St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots to 201 for three.

The Kings, playing their first game, mounted a stunning fightback after losing early wickets, thanks to Seifert's 27-ball 64.

Seifert put on a 44-ball 103 run stand with Rajapaksa. The latter then joined forces with Wiese in an unbroken 75-run partnership off 38 balls that helped the Kings over the line with five wickets in hand and 2.4 overs to spare. (Agencies)
