Fakhar Zaman helps groundstaff cover the field after rain stops play in Colombo

Fakhar Zaman lent the groundstaff a helping hand after rain started pouring down in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash between India and Pakistan at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Before the start of the 24th over, the groundstaff got themselves prepared with the covers in case it started raining. The clouds formed quite a bit over the venue as it got dark. After Shadab Khan bowled the first ball of the 25th over, the heavens opened up.

The groundstaff got to work immediately to cover the entire field. That’s when Fakhar stepped in to help the workers get the pitch covered as quickly as possible. It was a light shower to start with before the intensity increased.
