Former national cricket captain Angelo Mathews has been retained for Sri Lanka "A"s second unofficial ODI against the England Lions, named in the 15-member squad led by Sadeera Samarawickrama.
Mathews has not played ODI cricket since March 2021, but was called up for the first unofficial ODI against the England Lions on Wednesday, with the view of including him in the national squad that will play three ODIs in New Zealand next month.
Mathews scored just 13 off 17 balls, but will have another opportunity to make his case to be considred for the New Zealand tour.
There are however, three changes to the Sri Lanka "A" squad for the second unofficial ODI with Chamika Karunaratne, Praveen Jayawickrama and Milan Rathnayake making way for Dunith Wellalage, Amshi de Silva and Isitha Wijesundera.
