Fresh from their triumph in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, Sri Lanka is set to tour Ireland for a white-ball series featuring two T20Is and three ODIs.
Chamari Athapaththu, the standout performer and Player of the Tournament in the Asia Cup, will lead the team once again.
The only change to the squad that clinched the title against India is the inclusion of wicketkeeper Kaushini Nuthyangana, who joins the touring party.
The tour kicks off with two T20Is on August 11 and 13, followed by the start of the ODI series on August 16. The ODI matches will be part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
Sri Lanka currently sit in 5th place on the Championship table, with 20 points from 21 matches. A clean sweep in the series could propel them to second place. Meanwhile, Ireland, positioned at the bottom in 10th, are still searching for their first win in this cycle.
