CMEC helps build homes for flood-affected in Puttalam

China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) donated building materials to the value of over Rs. 1 million to those affected by floods in the Puttalam area.  
The building materials were handed over to the affected families with support from the Karuwalagaswewa Divisional Secretariat in Puttalam, by CMEC officials on Wednesday, June 15th.
CMEC which operates the Norochcholai Lakvijaya coal power plant has helped 32 families in the Neela Bamma area to reconstruct their homes which were damaged in the floods. The company had decided on this initiative after officials from CMEC’s in Puttalam who visited the affected areas that were devastated.  
CMEC has done several other CSR activities such as donations to the National Cancer hospital and to the Mihinthalaya temple, and will continue to assist the residents of this area and across the island.
