The Embassy of the Republic of Korea donated a total 221 of books and audiovisual materials regarding Korea to the Korea Corner at the Colombo Public Library.

Including Chang Won-sam, the Korean Ambassador, Cho Kyu-chan, Sri Lanka Country Director of KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), the library representatives, and Korean language students at the Korean Corner, about 40 people attended the donation ceremony which was held on December 19.

The Korea Corner was opened in January 2014 in the Colombo Public Library. It is a pleasant space where you can watch Korean dramas and K-Pop videos, and read books in various categories about Korea.

At the Korea Corner, the Korean language courses are also run by the KOICA from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday. Currently, about 90 Sri Lankan students are learning Korean language.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea plans to further promote the Korea Corner so that more Sri Lankan people understand Korea and its culture.
