Union Assurance General Limited (UAG) have yet again displayed their unstinting support for the Sri Lanka Traffic Police Headquarters by donating an Outdoor Sound System crucial to effectively conducting the Road Safety programs and demonstrations undertaken by the Traffic Police Headquarters and UAG at Schools and for the general public.
The Road Safety Awareness programs entails a physical demonstration of the dangers that pedestrians could face and the nature of road accidents. It is for programs of this nature that the Traffic Police Headquarters have conveyed the need for an outdoor sound system, which Union Assurance General has fulfilled.
“UAG as an organization have consistently been at the forefront of supporting us in such society-centric activities aimed at creating safer roads. We are truly grateful for this donation and the immediate response received from the management in obliging to our requirement” stated Senaka Gamage the OIC – Education at the Sri Lanka Traffic Police Headquarters.
Nihal Handunge, General Manager Marketing & Distribution commented “We are privileged to be working closely with the Traffic Police Headquarters on the grounds of our CSR initiatives and it is without hesitancy that we accommodated this necessity. Our relationship has grown stronger in the years gone by and we will continue to invest in it in the years to come”
UAG continues to be the only Insurance provider to officially partner with one of the main governing bodies that monitor road safety in Sri Lanka. The latest series of awareness programs conducted by UAG in partnership with the Traffic Police Headquarters during the month of September was at St Paul’s Girls School, Milagiriya where approximately 400 students had participated in the program, Presidents College Rajagiriya where 500 students had participated in the program and also across schools in Trincomalee where an estimated 1400 students had witnessed and participated in the programs.
