T-bill yields flat; bids for short-term bills rejected

The Treasury bill yields remained more or less flat at yesterday’s auction with bids for three months and six months being rejected.

The 12-month bill yield fell five basis points to 10.52 percent and the government sold Rs.4.76 billion worth of 12-month bills despite receiving Rs.21.8 billion worth of bids.

The auction was held to reissue Rs.5 billion worth of maturing bills. According to the Public Debt Department, a unit of the Central Bank, the auction in total received Rs.24.6 billion worth of bids.
