Amana Bank PLC Sri Lanka was recognised with Gold Award for Entity of the Year at the IFFSA Awards, which recognises the non-interest based Islamic Banking & Finance industry amongst South Asian countries, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Maldives.

The bank went on to further win the coveted Gold Award for Bank of the Year in South Asia as well as the Silver Award for Deal of the Year, owing to the bank financing a private owned cargo and passenger airline operation.
Held for the 6th consecutive year, IFFSA Awards is the only regional awarding platform recognising the performance of the non-interest based Islamic Banking & Finance industry, for which institutions across the regions keenly compete with each other.

In winning these accolades, Amana Bank competed with institutions from mature Islamic Banking & Finance markets such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Maldives in addition to other financial institutions based in Sri Lanka.
Commenting on winning the awards Amana Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Azmeer said, “We are honoured to be crowned South Asia’s Islamic Finance Entity of the Year as well as Islamic Bank of the Year under the respective category. Winning these accolades once again testifies Amana Bank’s leadership for Islamic Banking & Finance.  I am grateful to all our employees, customers and stakeholders for supporting the growth of the Bank which enabled us to achieve such global recognition.”
