During the recent past, NDB Bank has been rapidly growing its digital footprint, capturing the digital banking landscape faster than any local bank. Identifying the bank’s excellence in the digital arena, NDB has been crowned with the Most Innovative Digital Transformation – Sri Lanka 2021 award felicitated by the Cosmopolitan - The Daily a UK-based publication at the fourth Annual Cosmopolitan the Daily Business Awards 2021.
Additionally, NDB was also awarded as Best Bank for Project Financing – Sri Lanka 2021 and Best Investment Bank – Sri Lanka for NDBIB by the Cosmopolitan.
Meanwhile, the bank’s mobile banking and digital banking platform – NDB NEOS was awarded as Most Innovative Digital Banking Platform – NEOS Digital Banking – Sri Lanka 2021 by the Global Business Outlook – UK.
As part of its digital transformation roadmap, NDB’s NEOS is regularly updated to reflect customer demand for personalisation and ease of use. The launch of NEOS was the forerunner that enabled the bank to launch the NDB NEOS Online Banking platform in April 2020, during the peak of Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 crisis. The NDB NEOS Online Banking has garnered popularity nation-wide as a state-of-the-art digital banking platform, with absolute connectivity to all of NDB’s banking services especially during the lockdown period.
Adding to the many firsts, the bank has achieved in the digital platform is the launch of the latest video KYC (vKYC)-based account opening. vKYC, utilising artificial intelligence (AI) technology, enables customers to open NDB accounts from the comfort and safety of home, without having to visit a branch. Additionally, the bank also became the first player in the industry to tie up with the Credit Information Bureau (CRIB) in order to create a hassle-free and convenient method in which the bank’s customers can register and request for their individual credit reports (iReport) and individual credit score reports (CRIB Score) from wherever they are in Sri Lanka through the NDB NEOS.
