NDB bank has reached the pinnacle of innovation in its recent introduction of the first-of-its-kind AI- generated calendar in Sri Lanka.

Every year NDB bank produces a calendar for the forthcoming year comprising new concepts and unique ideas that includes its customers and stakeholders as a reminder that they matter throughout the year.

In view of the above, the last year’s calendar was developed in accordance with the bank’s brand proposition - “The future is banking with us”.  Not only did this align with the bank’s advent in exposing its customers to new and exciting prospects, but it also created diverse and unique opportunities for banking in the digital sector a clear indication of its onward progress in technology and innovation.

Therefore, this year NDB bank took a giant leap forward to adhere to its corporate tagline- The future is banking with us and set to work on its most innovative calendar idea yet. Which is to use Artificial Intelligence to develop the visuals.

In order to bring the concept to life, NDB Bank solicited the help of its youngest customers, the children who hold NDB Shilpa Accounts. As the custodians of the future, they were asked to envision what the future would look like 100 years from now and explained their imaginations.

Many children shared their contributions to what the future would entail a century later, via short videos. The response from the children was tremendous, and their visualization of the future was unique and bore testimony to their intelligence and talent. Upon reviewing the submissions, the best 12 were selected to be featured in the calendar. Thus, the visual development of these imaginations took place via the AI platform for the calendar.
The 12 Shilpa account holders whose ideas for the future were used to develop the calendar were invited to the launch of the 2023 AI-generated calendar and were thrilled to see their imaginations brought to life via AI technology.

Addressing the young attendees and all those who made submissions, the Director/CEO of NDB Dimantha Seneviratna said, “You all are part of it and it is a proud moment for you all as well. Your imaginations about the future are very inspiring. You’ve conceptualized a variety of ideas focusing on different areas.   We launched the 2023 calendar today with you all. We’re proud of our children, the custodians of our future. You are very talented. We wish you all the very best.”
