NLF announces resignation of CEO

 Nation Lanka Finance PLC (NLF) announced the resignation of the current CEO Suresh M. Amerasekera, effective from March 28, 2022. 


Amerasekera is a senior banker, with over 40 years of experience in the finance industry.  He previously held the position as CEO of Pan Oceanic Bank - Solomon Islands from May 2016 to September 2018. Prior to that he held the position of CEO of Orient Finance PLC and Housing Development Finance Corporation.


Amerasekera also served as Assistant General Manager at Seylan Bank and as Chief Operating Officer at Alliance Finance Co PLC. He had his initial training in banking at the Colombo branches of State Bank of India and Bank of America.


He holds an MBA (International Business) from the Edith Cowan University, Western Australia and Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK.


He was instrumental in spearheading Orient Finance to complete one of the most successful mergers in the non-banking finance sector, recording the best ever profits in the company during the 2015/2016 period.


He has a proven track record in strategy formulation, corporate and retail lending and risk management and has the unique distinction of holding five C Suite positions in two banks and three finance companies in the last 14 years.
