With a strong focus of supporting customers through their life journey, Nations Trust Bank (NTB) recently relaunched the Nations Kidz Savings account with the intention of teaching children the habit of saving from a young age and to lay the foundation for a secure future.
“As a fast-growing bank we understand the importance of securing your children’s future and supporting them in fulfilling their dreams. This is relevant in both the context of finances as well as education. For many Sri Lankans providing a relevant higher education for their children is still a difficult task. Coupling savings habits together with educational benefits will provide a holistic solution for a parent in securing a child’s future,” commented NTB Head of Branches Sheahan Daniel.
Recognising the vital role IT plays in future prospects, NTB has introduced an IT scholarship programme for Nations Kidz savings account holders. The scholarship will be awarded to children who excel in their Grade Five scholarship exam.
Daniel further added, “In recognition of the importance of IT education for the next generation, Nations Trust will also grant account holders who excel in the Grade Five scholarship exam, a special IT scholarship. This is designed specifically to assist these young individuals in facing the challenges of tomorrow.”
Furthermore, the bank will offer scholarship workshops to groom children who are facing the Grade Five scholarship examination to sharpen their knowledge to achieve their educational goals. In addition, the bank will also extend account holders with attractive gifts including remote control helicopters, tablets, learn and touch pads and mountain bikes to make savings a fun activity to inculcate the saving habits in children today.
With the relaunch, NTB will also introduce Nations Kidz Club. This unique engagement programme will host a variety of activities and events throughout the year, with the aim of fostering loyalty. As a launch for the club, NTB will host Nations Kidz Club Day, to give children an extraordinary fun-filled day in line with their future aspirations with activities such as, storytelling, arts and crafts, etc. Children who have over Rs.200,000 in their Nations Kidz savings account will be eligible to receive the membership of this club and a personalized membership card will be issued.
Another benefit for members of the Nations Kidz Club is the priority for the Nations Nfresher, a special three-month internship training programme offered to children who are interested in banking as a career. Nfresher programme gives preference to Nations Kidz savings account holders when considering candidates for the internship programme giving them the early advantage of becoming skilled young adults. The programme is specifically designed to give children who have completed GCE Advanced Level examination, a basic training in banking. Further, interested candidates can enrol at any of the NTB branches islandwide.
