Life Insurance Corporation of India, the parent company of LIC (Lanka) Ltd, announced the appointment of R. Rajnikanth as Chief Executive Officer, replacing S.C. Pattanayak, who has been repatriated to India on completion of his tenure.
Rajnikanth is joining LIC Lanka as CEO and MD on June 27, 2022.
Rajnikanth is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, having completed his Master of Science in Physics. He has also done MBA (Marketing) from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He joined LIC of India as Direct Recruit Officer in the year 1988.
He has a noteworthy career spanning three decades across various domains such as information technology, marketing, housing finance and training with commendable achievements at several locations in India. Starting his career in a branch, he had a long stint in I.T., Mumbai. He made significant contribution as Manager, IT Mumbai and Head of Management Services in LIC Housing Finance Limited.
He headed Guwahati Division and later was CEO of LIC HFL Financial Services Ltd, a subsidiary company of LIC HFL. His other assignments include Regional Manager (South Central Zone) in Health Insurance, Secretary, Direct Marketing, CO and Faculty Member of National Insurance Academy at Pune. Also, he has international experience of about four years as Manager, IT in LIC, United Kingdom. His most recent posting was General Manager, Recovery at LIC HFL Corporate Office.
He co-authored an academic paper ‘Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Life Insurance Industry’, published in the Bima Quest Magazine, National Insurance Academy, Pune.
