Around 12 Samagi Jana Balawegaya ( SJB) MPs have voted in favour of Ranil Wickremesinghe, MP Harin Fernando said yesterday.
“ I think around 12 SJB MPs have voted in favour of Mr. Wickremesinghe,” Fernando told DailyMirror falling short of revealing the names of the MPs.
“ It is not correct to reveal the names of those who supported Mr. Wickremesinghe,” he said.
Earlier he said the SJB leader had killed the SJB by deciding against competing for the presidency.
Meanwhile Jathika Jana Balawegaya MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said MPs of many parties in Parliament had defied their respective leaders and voted against the party decision.
