Around 13 junior SLPP MPs in a letter addressed to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had informed him that they will have to make a decision according to their conscience if he fails to appoint a interim government comprising all political parties.
It was reported that these MPs handed over the letter to the President when they met him at the Presidential Palace in Fort.
They have requested the President to appoint an interim government under a new Prime Minister.
The MPs who have made this request include Wasantha Yapa Bandara, Udeni Kirindigoda, Kumarasiri Ratnayake, K. P. S Kumarasiri, Rajitha Wickramasinghe, Akila Ellawala, Lalith Ellawala, Ajith Rajapakse, Upul Gallapathi and Sudath Manjula.
It was reported that these MPs handed over the letter to the President when they met him at the Presidential House in Fort.
