A total of 16 Ayurvedic medicines have been so far approved and recommended to be used as medication to boost immunity against COVID-19, Ayurvedic Commissioner Dr. Dhammika Abeygunawardana said.
He said initially, two medicines including Suwa Dharani’were approved by the Ayurvedic Department.
“Subsequently,100 Ayurvedic recipes were directed to us and at last, it was decided to approve 14 medicines as effective in boosting immunity against COVID-19,” he said. “These are all natural medicines and no one suffers from any side effects and anyone can use these medicines without any fear,” he pointed out.
He said these medicines could be obtained through regional Ayurvedic officers.
The Commissioner also urged the general public to refrain from experimenting with ayurvedic recipes circulating on social media and other platforms which claim to be useful to combat COVID-19.
