Sixteen trains scheduled for yesterday were cancelled as several locomotive operators tested positive for COVID-19 and due to a shortage of railway guards, Railway authorities said.
They said 32 trains starting from Maradana railway station including office trains were not run as scheduled.
Accordingly, six trains operating on the Main Line, four apiece on the Coastal and Kelani Valley Lines, three trains on the Puttalam Line, and the train schedule on track to Kurunegala on the Northern Line have been cancelled.
