43rd Movement and JVP hold talks on formation of a new all party Govt.

The 43rd Movement led by MP Patali Champika Ranawaka and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) held talks yesterday exchanged views, among others, on the formation of a new all party government.  


The enactment of the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution and the evolution of a common programme are among other matters that were discussed.  

The JVP is reported to have expressed reservations about joining a government led by the leader of a traditional party. The JVP believes such a leader will work in the political interests of the party represented by him.   
The JVP stands for a common minimum programme that ends with a general election at the end.
