As many as 62 per cent of the population above 20 have taken their full course of vaccination against COVID-19, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.

Addressing the 74th session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia, the Minister said 86 per cent of people above 60 had been vaccinated with their first dose. The WHO’s Sri Lanka chapter stressed the need to help elders to access vaccination, and to reduce transmissions by following health measures such as wearing a mask, maintaining distance, cleaning hands and avoiding crowds and reduce socialising.
