All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) says it welcomes the ceasefire which has taken place in the Palestine region after two weeks of inhuman attacks on the lives of the innocent civilians in the region.
Issuing a statement, it says, “We greatly appreciate the efforts of various parties especially the Government of Egypt for advocating of this ceasefire. It has been reported that the violence was initially instigated by attacks carried upon the worshippers, during the final days of the Holy Month of Ramadan, at the Masjid Al-Aqsa, the 3rd holiest site for Muslims. We strongly condemn the attacks on the lives of innocent civilians and call upon the international community to stand against these atrocities which has been continuing since 1947.
