Students from Colombo, Matara and Galle have obtained the best results in the Island for the main four streams at the 2022 GCE Advanced Level examination that was released last evening.
Accordingly, Pramodhi Bhashani Munasinghe of Sujatha Vidyalaya in Matara obtained the first place in the Island in the Biological Science stream.
Maneth Banula Perera of Royal College in Colombo has obtained the first place in the Island in the Physical Science stream. Kavidini Dilsarani Tharushika of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya in Colombo has obtained the best results in the Island in the Commerce stream, while Samuditha Nayanapriya of Richmond College in Galle is the Island’s first in the Engineering Technology stream.
Meanwhile, the education ministry said that a total of 166,938 (63.3%) candidates including 149,487 school candidates and 17,451 private candidates have qualified to enter universities.
