A person who let loose his dog when a police officer called on his house for an inquiry was arrested by Minuwangoda Police.

The suspect, P.A.Upul Indika of Nilpanagoda, was produced before the Minuwangoda Acting Magistrate Sarana Karunaratne and remanded till April 12. The suspect had been informed by the Police to call over at the police station in connection with a complaint against him. After he disregarded it, two police officers attached to the police emergency unit had, on the instructions of the OIC, visited the suspect to inform him to call over at the police station.

It is alleged that the suspect who closed the doors and hid himself inside the house had let loose a dog. One of the police officers was bitten by the dog and was admitted to the Gampaha General Hospital.
Sergeant 38098 Sudath Chandrasiri produced the suspect in Court and made submissions.
