The Embarkation Tax, levied at the Points of Entry of the country has been amended by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, the CAASL said.
Accordingly, the tax has been reduced to USD 30 from the earlier uniform fee of USD 60. The amount was in effect for the last two decades.

However, the tax remains unchanged at USD 60 at the country’s main airport, the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake.

All other points of entry will charge USD 30 as Embarkation Tax.  However, those who depart from Sri Lanka by sea will also be subject to the embarkation levy of US$ 60.
“Passengers who leave Sri Lanka via Ratmalana International Airport and Jaffna International Airport will have to pay an Embarkation Tax of USD 30.

Meanwhile, international airlines that depart from Mattala Mahinda Rajapaksa Airport are exempted from being charged this tax for two years from the date of commencement of operations.
