A filling station managed by the Lanka Indian Oil Corporation (LIOC) in Wallawaya was sealed due to many irregularities and a short fuel supply, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) said yesterday.
Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said the raid was conducted as a joint operation of the PUCSL, ITI (Industrial Technology Institute), and Measurement Units, Standards & Services Department. On September 29, two out of three Octane 92 fuel dispensers at a fuel filling station in Colombo were sealed due to irregular fuel dispensing. He said the filling stations had saved 1.2% of petrol from a litre worth Rs.5.40 during every instance where fuel was dispensed.
