A mobile application has been launched for the planting of two million tree saplings for urban beautification, protection of the environment and afforestation in Sri Lanka when implementation of development programs including road development projects in Sri Lanka, a statement from the Ministry said.
Nimal Lansa, State Minister for Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure, said that the mobile application was developed under the theme "Maga Depasa Thuru Sewana - Surakumata Parisaraya".
The State Ministry of Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure implements this planting program on roadsides and in public places during the implementation of development projects.
The Ministry of Highways, Road Development Authority, the State Design and Development Corporation are contributing for this.
