Everyone in Sri Lanka should put aside their differences and come together at this moment when Sri Lanka and the world as a whole have been affected by the pandemic, Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said yesterday.

“Everyone should play their part to avoid further spread of COVID 19. Even the clergymen are duty bound to help the affected people at this moment. We will keep on praying that the pandemic will perish from Sri Lanka and the world as soon as possible,” he said after donating protective equipment to Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH).
The Archdiocese of Colombo donated equipment worth Rs. 20 million of protective gear and food to the hospital.
The officials of Lady Ridgeway Hospital who accepted the protective equipment said there are 17 children in the hospital who are being treated for COVID 19.

“All health workers should perform their duty as state officers and heath officers during this pandemic,” Director Lady Ridgeway hospital Dr. G. Wijesuriya said. He thanked Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malclom Ranjith for the donations.
