The 750 year old historic Bo tree at the Gedige Vihara in Asgiriya Maha Vihara had collapsed on Tuesday evening (12).
History has it recorded that this Bo tree had been named after the consort of Vickramabahu 111 who ruled during the Gampola period.
The Anunayake of the Asgiriyia Chapter Ven.Wendaruwe Upali Thera said no one was hurt in the incident.
