Clashes among the members of the Ava group in Jaffna had erupted after the arrest of its leader Vinodan. One of them had received serious injuries and admitted to Hospital.
He had been assaulted with sharp weapons by four individuals at Muhammadan in Jaffna on Wednesday night (01). Police said he would have been suspected of providing information leading to the arrest of the leader.
Meanwhile, the suspected leader of the Ava Group, Vinodan was produced before Jaffna Magistrate and remanded till September 10. Police are conducting further investigations to arrest others of the group.
