Electricity supply to several buildings in Badulla teaching hospital which had been disconnected on Wednesday morning for arrears of dues was reconnected yesterday afternoon.
A senior official of the Ceylon Electricity Board said arrears of electricity bills of the hospital amounted to more than Rs. 50 million and that it resulted in disconnecting the supply. The power supply to the Nursing School Nurses’ Quarters, and the Internship Doctors’ Quarters had been left without power supply from 9.00am on Wednesday to 3.45pm yesterday.
Meanwhile Hospital Director Upul Karunaratne said the power supply was reconnected yesterday afternoon.
He said a sum of Rs.10 million was paid to the Electricity Board on Wednesday (9)
