The All Ceylon Banquet Hall and Catering Association (ACBHCA) is to raise banquets, wedding halls, and catering charges by 40%.
The association’s Chairman Athula Kaluarachchi told the Daily Mirror that the decision was taken considering the unbearable economic crisis and recent fuel price increase in the country.
“The economic crisis and the fuel price increase have directly affected the price of a plate of food as well as the buffet service. With this crisis, it is impossible to provide a meal at low budget, “he said.
Therefore, the Chairman requested all banquet hall and catering service owners to increase the prices by 20% for the halls that have already been reserved and 40% for fresh reservations.
Also, the association requested the banquets, wedding halls, and catering owners’ to provide the best service for their customers at the time where the prices have gone up multi-fold.
