A fisherman drowned and another disappeared when a fishing boat capsized in the sea off Balapitiya fishery harbour last morning.
The deceased Earl Nishantha Kumara De Silva was a resident of Wijeyarama Road Balapitiya.
Police said the boat with three fishermen including the owner on board had left Balapitiya fishery harbour for deep sea fishing and capsized due to rough seas being experienced at present.
However the owner of the boat Laddu Gimhana De Silva had managed to swim ashore and escape unhurt.
Ahungalla police are conducting investigations.
