Buddhists don't have anyone to talk on behalf of them such as the Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith who makes a justifiable demand on behalf  of Catholics who were victims of the Easter Sunday mayhem, a prominent Buddhist monk said yesterday.

Venerable Elle Gunawansa thera who was speaking at a gathering said the demand made by Cardinal Ranjith to reveal the masterminds behind the Easter Sunday attack is justifiable. “He is only requesting the government to reveal the mastermind behind the Easter Sunday attacks and to penalize them. This is fair cry,” the thera said. “ There was no one to make a similar demand on behalf of Buddhist monks who were killed by the LTTE in Arantalawa and on behalf of those who were killed at Jaya Sirimaha Bodhi. These have been forgotten as a result. A monk has however filed a court case calling for justice for the Arantalwa victims. This is was after so many years. No one will come forward as done by the Cardinal to demand justice for Buddhists if a temple is attacked in the future,” the Venerable Thera added. “ We, therefore, want the government to reveal the mastermind behind the Easter Sunday attack,” he said.
