Business operations suspended in over 30 towns

• Business activities have also come to a standstill in Ambalangoda,  Maradagahamula, Veyangoda, Dankotuwa, Serunuwara, Palapathwala, Ulpatha,  Tangalle, Badulla, Balangoda, Walapane, Bandarawela, Embilipitiya, and  Matale areas

Business operations in at least 31 towns across the country have been suspended as of today while another 15 towns suspended operations from yesterday due to the spread of COVID-19.  

Accordingly, business operations in the areas under the Trincomalee Urban and Municipal Councils of Kegalle, Chilaw, Ampara, Wennappuwa, Kekirawa,Moneragala, Divulapitiya, Deraniyagala, Uragasmanhandiya, Wadduwa, Banduragoda, Rikillagaskada, have been suspended.  

In addition, business activities have also come to a standstill in Ambalangoda, Maradagahamula, Veyangoda, Dankotuwa, Serunuwara, Palapathwala, Ulpatha, Tangalle, Badulla, Balangoda, Walapane, Bandarawela, Embilipitiya, and Matale areas.  

Shops in certain towns have decided to close for a week, and in other towns for two weeks until further notice.
