The Commissioner Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) Roshini Dissanayake yesterday said the Council members do not have the authority to transfer her.
Ms. Dissanayake was referring to the resolution which was passed by the CMC on Monday calling for her transfer. All main political parties representing the Municipal Council, including UNP, SLFP and SLPP members unanimously approved the resolution.
“It’s only the Governor who has the right to transfer a Municipal Commissioner as per the Provincial Council Act,” she added.
