Govt. to purchase 2, 000 Three-Wheelers for Police

The Cabinet approval has been granted to purchase 2, 000 three-wheelers for the Sri Lanka Police Division.  


The decision was taken, as the police being the main institute responsible for enforcing the law and keeping peace throughout the island.  The proposal was tabled by the Public Security Minister. 
 
Rice Purchasing Programme of the Maha season of 2020/21.

The Cabinet Ministers reviewed the progress of rice purchasing programme of the Maha season of 2020/21.  


The Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to purchase rice competitively with the private sector with the view to receive a highest price for the farmers under the aforesaid programme.  
Furthermore, the Cabinet also decided to maintain the price of Nadu rice at Rs. 98 per kilogram in the future without any change, irrespective of  purchasing paddy at high prices.

 

Implementing the Budget Proposals, Amendments to the Tax Laws

All parties contributing to the economy have been introduced to simple, transparent and efficient Tax System by the Budget Proposals of 2021.  


The proposal made by the Prime Minister as the Finance Minister to draft a Bill to implement the said proposal and to take relevant measures was approved by the Cabinet.  


National Action Plan 2021-2025 to monitor and combat Human Trafficking

Taking into account the experience gained in the implementation of the National Action Plan 2015-2019 to monitor and combat human trafficking and the views expressed by the relevant parties, the new National Action Plan to monitor and combat human trafficking has been designed to be implemented during 2021-2025.  
The Cabinet Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Justice Minister to implement the National Action Plan to monitor and combat human trafficking during 2021-2025.
