Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, met UNHRC High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet in Geneva yesterday.

The meeting comes two days after the Cardinal met Pope Francis and briefed him on the investigations that are being carried out on the Easter Sunday bomb attacks of 2019 and stressed the need to seek international assistance to uncover the mastermind behind the attack.   A brief press release issued by Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo Rev J. D. Anthony Jayakody confirmed the Cardinal’s meeting with the UNHRC High Commissioner. He said the meeting took place at 2.30pm Sri Lanka time in Geneva. “Cardinal Ranjith discussed about revealing the truth behind the Easter Sunday terror attacks,” the Bishop said.   A press conference which was to be held in Colombo on the meeting Cardinal Ranjith had with the Pope was called off later during the day.
