Chinese Ambassador visits North

Chinese Ambassador Se Sen Hong’s three day visit to the north ended with an inspection of Point Pedro and the Mannar Causeway (Adam’s Bridge) . Before leaving the North he said the end of his visit would be a beginning as well. 

During his visit he met the fisher folk and several senior government officials. The delegates carried out an inspection of the sea off Point Pedro with drone cameras. When inquired , the officials told him that the distance from Point Pedro to India was about 30 kilometres. Later the delegates carried out an inspection of the Mannar causeway to a distance of about 17 nautical miles  for which the Navy in Thalluwapadu camp provided boats.
Deputy Chief of Defence in the Chinese Embassy and the Head of Political Affairs had joined the Ambassador.
Police and the security forces provided protection to the delegation.
