A half naked Chinese who behaved in unruly manner near the old light house in the Galle Fort was taken into custody to find that he had been over staying in Sri Lanka since December 2021 after the expiry of his tourist visa.
Investigations revealed that he had been staying at a hotel in Mirissa with a Chinese woman and that he had behaved in an unruly manner and attempted to jump into the sea when the woman deserted him and left for China.
The suspect Huang Junjie (33) was produced before the Galle Chief Magistrate Isuru Netthikumara and remanded till June 06.
He was arrested and produced in court by OIC Galle Fort Tourist Police IP Ranjan Kodituwakku, Sergeant 59256 Shiran and PC 78143 Thilina.
