Several operating theatres of the Colombo National Hospital experienced a minor power failure yesterday (14) affecting the hospital services including surgeries.
According to sources, there was a technical fault with some cables that carry electricity to several operating theatres. As such, there was a brief power failure from 11 am to 3.30 pm yesterday.
However, hospital sources affirmed that no hindrance was caused to the hospital operations including the surgeries despite the power failure.
Nevertheless, there was a slight delay in carrying out two operations due to the brief power failure, which was not alarming.
Several attempts to contact CEB Colombo office failed.
