Colombo Port City Economic Commission Bill SJB to pursue for more amendments

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will continue to make efforts to bring in amendments to the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Bill so that the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) and Committee on Public Accounts (COPA)  gets authority to summon the authorities of the proposed commission to Parliament.  

SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said this in a special statement yesterday. “We will continue our struggle to make further amendments to the Port City so that Parliament could gain more control of it,” Mr. Madduma Bandara said. “Also we question the efforts made by a company to canvas for investors. This company has come up with advertisements calling investments. How can this be done even before the Speaker endorses the Bill?” he asked.
