With the increase in fuel prices by the government, the All Island United Container Transport Owners’ Association (AIUCTOA) has decided to increase the import and export container transport fees from Saturday night.
Accordingly, the import and export container transport fees have been increased by five percent.
The association said they take this opportunity to inform all importers and exporters and clearing houses about the increase in their fees.
The increase in diesel prices by Rs.35 has directly affected the container shipping industry.
The association also informed that the decision was taken since the owners of transport vehicles cannot afford to absorb the increase in the price of diesel without increasing their fees.
