The Minister of Power will table a copy of the agreement which the government has signed with New Fortress Energy Ltd in Parliament as soon as possible, Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena assured yesterday.
Minister Gunawardena gave this assurance when UNP MP Ranil Wickremesinghe requested that the agreement be tabled in Parliament for the reference of political parties. “Few political parties including the UNP are yet to come up with an official stand on the proposed LNG power project in Kerawalapitiya. We want to refer to the agreement before making an official stand,” he said.
“Subject Minister who answered a question raised on the proposed project and assured that the copy of the agreement will be tabled in the House. This will be done. In addition, the Minister is prepared to table it before the relevant consultative committee.
