DIG in charge of the CID- Prasad Ranasinghe has been transferred to the Police Headquarters and DIG in charge of the Matara and Hambantota Districts W. Tilakaratne has been appointed as the DIG in charge of the CID with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, Nuwan Wedasinghe, who was the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Galle District, has been appointed as the DIG in charge of the Matara and Hambantota Districts.
DIG V.P.C.A. Siriwardena has been transferred to the DIG in charge of the Children and Women Bureau.
Police said the transfers had been made due to service requirements following the approval of the Public Service Commission.
In addition, the IGP has transferred SSP I.B.T. Sugathapala, ASP D.M.S. Pussella, ASP J.S.T.Jayawardena, ASP W.D.S.P. Jayawardena, ASPJ. Hazeemdeen, ASP D.M.J.K Dahanaka, ASP P.B.M.C. Basnayake and ASP A.P.N.S.S. Perera following the approval of the Secretary to the Public Security Ministry.
Also, the seven OICs including Colombo Crimes Division Chief Inspector S. Susantha had been transferred due to service requirements.
