Dehiwala Zoological Gardens is scheduled to reopen to the public on Monday after closure for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Director General of the Department of Zoological Gardens Ishini Wickremesinghe said the zoo would be opened on all weekdays from 9am to 5pm subject to the health guidelines.
Deputy Director Anoma Priyadarshani said all visitors would be required to wear face masks, to wash their hands on entry to the zoo and to strictly adhere to the health guidelines and other precautions. She requested the visitors to refrain from attempting to feed the animals.
