The 44-year-old sportsman sold his modern apartment, located in Prahran - an inner suburb just five kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD.
The apartment was sold at an auction earlier this month but the price hadn’t been disclosed.
The lower level features an entrance hallway leading to two spacious bedrooms with built-in wardrobes.There is also an open-plan lounge and a dining area, as well as a master bedroom with a wrap-around terrace.
The apartment has a modern kitchen and comes with two-car basement parking.
The sale comes as Tillakaratne settles into his new home in Melbourne’s Beaconsfield with his wife, Manjula Thilini, and their four children.
“The property has a beautiful view on top of a hill. It has a pool and four bedrooms. It’s a residential area but there are huge houses and has a spacious backyard,” he told The Herald Sun.
“We’ve lived there for the past year and plan to stay while the kids are at school,” he said.
He also owns a villa in Colombo, Sri Lanka, called D Pavilion.
Tillakaratne was appointed as captain of Sri Lanka’s Cricket Team in 2011, after Kumar Sangakkara stepped down.
He was Sri Lanka’s top scorer in the 2016 World Twenty 20 in India. (Daily Mail)
