Education Minister Dinesh Gunawardena lost his cool yesterday when journalists questioned him if the government could continue to function by sacking senior members such as State Minister Susil Premajayantha for speaking against the government’s failures.
Gunawardena who had finished meeting Premajayantha in the latter’s ministry shortly after Premajayantha was sacked by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, was questioned by journalists when he stepped out, on whether the present government could go on.
When Gunawardena refused to answer he was questioned if he was also scared to comment against the government, to which he turned around and said angrily he was scared of no one. “Do you’ll want fire?” he shot back.
He also ignored questions of a possible cabinet reshuffle and lost his cool further when asked what his opinion was of Susil being sacked as the duo were close friends.
