People showing displeasure towards Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa during Wednesday’s protest is unfortunate, UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene said yesterday.
Speaking to journalists after the opening of the new media centre at Sirikotha, He said no one should try to gain political mileage out of the situation at this point of time . “The opposition would get into trouble if they try for political gain at a time such as this. All opposition parties and the ruling party should get together at this difficult time,” he said. UNP Assistant Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said the opposition protest on Wednesday clearly showed where the people stand where their political ideology is concerned. “ Usually when a protest is held by the opposition it affects the government. However it was not so this time.
