European Union’s Ambassador Denis Chaibi stressed the need of a stable, simple procedure for people to have confidence in Sri Lanka’s investment climate. He said investors need a rule that won’t change every six months.
“We believe that European investments would be very good for Sri Lanka because they take into account high environmental, social and governance standards. They’re more focused on helping socially in the host country. Because they have such a long perspective, European investors need to be sure that the legal framework will be stable; that the rules will not change every six months,” he said.
